mythbuster: (when the ettin is loosed)

1st Night [action]

[When Loki finally reaches the outskirts of Luceti, he's scratched up, hungry, tired, and above all, cranky.]

Damn you... Heim...

[And without further ado, he collapses.

How does one react to a child in New Feather garb lying motionless on the floor?]

I lived there for a while before too. It's a very nice area. Have you ever lived outside of it?

[identity profile] minimonsterdad.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Here and there. When I was younger, I lived in the Nordic region. Might you be familiar with it?

[identity profile] heroicarturia.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I certainly am. [Being very close by to those regions...and even engaging the armies there in battle during her life.] However, I rarely ever left my homeland.

It's surprising that you traveled to a land as far as Japan, then.

[identity profile] heroicarturia.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I traveled because I was needed there by a friend. Not that I stood very long - it was only a short two weeks. It was a nice place, but I do prefer home in the end.

[identity profile] minimonsterdad.livejournal.com 2011-05-22 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Well said. Though I wouldn't mind bringing more of Japanese cuisine back to Europe.

Any delicious food is good in my books. [But she can't say she doesn't agree with his sentiment.] You will find a wide variety of nourishment in the village, as they supply different foods from all sorts of worlds.

[identity profile] minimonsterdad.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
Really? That's a surprise. Most captors wouldn't bother to feed their prisoners more than the bare minimum.

[identity profile] heroicarturia.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose you can say our captors are more generous in that sense. However, I don't suggest you become comfortable with them. They still took us into this area against our will, after we arrived in this world.

[identity profile] minimonsterdad.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 07:34 am (UTC)(link)

I'll keep that in mind. Though if I understand correctly, the Malnosso protect us from the so-called "Third Party"?

[identity profile] heroicarturia.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, they do. By making us fight their wars for them. Apparently they are in short supply of their own armed forces, so they use us instead.

[identity profile] minimonsterdad.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
And yet many of us would have been killed on sight by this Third Party were it not for this barrier.

[identity profile] heroicarturia.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
[...Hm.]

Certainly that is true. However, that still does not excuse them from sending out people who are incapable of physical combat for example. Especially when there are many fighters here who can defend against such forces, but are not permitted to go out.

[identity profile] minimonsterdad.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 08:23 am (UTC)(link)

I can think of one reasonable explanation for holding back on fighting power, and that is to keep the fighters within the barrier on unofficial reserve in case the Third Party is able to find its way in. But sending out non-fighters is...

[identity profile] heroicarturia.livejournal.com 2011-05-24 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
While I agree with such a sentiment, it still doesn't explain why they are sending out people that are incapable of fighting wars. Young children have been on the list before if I recall, which is ludicrous.

[...She sighs a little, realizing that she was becoming a bit fired up about it.]

However, there is not much we can do. No matter how many times we try to sway the whims of our captors, they simply do not budge on their decisions.

[identity profile] minimonsterdad.livejournal.com 2011-05-24 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
So even I might get sent out too. That might be troublesome.

[identity profile] heroicarturia.livejournal.com 2011-05-24 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[She was going to reply, but then the sound of his stomach alerts her. A small smile creeps up on her expression, as she turns to him.]

If it ever comes to you being sent out, I'm sure accommodations can be made for you and the other non-combatants.

[And with good timing, they arrive in the village plaza.]

This is the main center of the village, where you can get just about anything you need. Food, books, furniture - I don't think there is much that can't be found.

[identity profile] minimonsterdad.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Already? Well then, thank you, Saber. I'll be alright from here.

[identity profile] heroicarturia.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
If you are certain, Loki. If you are in need of anything, you can call for me on the journals. I would be glad to assist.

[identity profile] minimonsterdad.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
I'll keep that in mind. And since you've done me a favor, I'll owe you one in return!

[identity profile] heroicarturia.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I couldn't ask of that! Really, I'm just glad to be of help.

[identity profile] minimonsterdad.livejournal.com 2011-05-26 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm... Well, if you ever need me for anything, don't hesitate to ask.

[identity profile] heroicarturia.livejournal.com 2011-05-26 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
[She sheepishly smiles.]

Thank you for your generosity, Loki. I shall leave you then to your own devices. [She bows very slightly and turns away to walk off.]

[identity profile] minimonsterdad.livejournal.com 2011-05-26 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
Good-bye, Saber.
